EXHIBITION with Lucky Drawing at Galleri Graff AS
For me, this is incredibly big and I'm as excited as a small child on Christmas Eve to see my photos hanging in a gallery!
And it's not just any gallery either. Galleri Graff has housed several artists such as; Ari Behn, Jan Aunvik, Thomas Knarvik, Hanne Wewer Melby, Trygve Fjell, Jarle Rosseland, Jan Brænde, Stig Andresen, Harald Kolderup, Nico Widerberg, Gunn Vottestad, Gunilla Holm, Ørjan Righard, Jon Olav Helle, Elling Reitan, Eva Langås, Wanda Hareim, Bjørg Thorhallsdottir, Dang van Ty, Kari Middelton, Svein Rosseland, Ole Dørje, Bente Aarskog, Ingunn Dahlin.
On Thursday 14 November there will be a vernissage and bubbly in the glass. I'll be there all evening and you can buy framed illustrations while you're there! Imagine such nice Christmas gifts then?
If you can't make it on Thursday, the exhibitions will be up until the following Saturday. I'm looking forward to it and hope you'll enjoy the pictures!
The lucky drawing was created from a little doodle made at a job seminar in Oslo by illustrator Ingebjørg Rangøy Sjåland.
After publishing the illustration on Instagram, where she received several pieces of feedback and, not least, an order, she set up a Facebook group called Lykketegning. After a massive response, she first took a leave of absence and then quit her job as a counsellor at Sarpsborg Municipality to become a full-time illustrator. She was also invited to appear on God Morgen Norge at Christmas 2015.
Since then, she has made a living spreading happiness across the country with her drawings and has become a Facebook phenomenon where her drawings have reached millions of people at home and abroad. The Sarpsborg girl has now been drawing full-time for a couple of years and her Lykkekopper is sold in over 250 stores across the country.
"At Lykketegning, every illustration is created with warmth and care. With strong colours, clear lines and good quotes, Lykketegning wants to make you stop for a moment, take a deep breath and then set a good course forward. The hearts and smiles are from me to you to remind you that you are really good!"
Ingebjørg works with pencil, pen, paper and markers. Original drawings are coloured with Promarkers and reprints are often made with a drawing program on iPad pro.
With a simple line, she still brings out a warmth and depth in her illustrations and she hits the mark. The feedback is that they go straight to the hearts of those who see them. They mean something in everyday life and can help through adversity and difficult times.
Even though her strokes are simple and her colours strong, she appeals to an adult audience, and that's who she's targeting.
"I genuinely love all my illustrations. They mean something to me and probably reflect what I feel is important in my life. My inspiration comes from human encounters, nature and everyday life. For me, it's important that others feel that they're worth a lot and that they're unique just the way they are. Many people want to have these reminders in their homes and appreciate that I can also create illustrations according to their thoughts and wishes. I've always been a visual girl and loved photography in the past and now I'm trying to get the subjects in my head down with drawings instead. I love doing this and look forward to each new day at work!"
Ingebjørg has decorated this year's Pink Ribbon cup and has made cards for the Pink Ribbon campaign in previous years.
She won Product of the Year in Tilbords 2019 and is always up to date with new illustrations and products.
